A delectable and savoury Eritrean/Ethiopian spice consisting of ground Chickpeas, Red Pepper, Garlic, Cumin, White Camun, Cardamom, Fenugreek and Sweet Basil. This is by far one of the most beloved dishes in Eritrean and Ethiopian cuisine. The spicy and rich flavours of Shiro, make it difficult to resist.
Shiro is traditionally served with injera (Eritrean/Ethiopian fermented flat bread, similar to sourdough) but you can also enjoy it with rice, pita, pasta, quinoa, roti and naan.
